How to tell real coral necklace from fake?
I purchased a coral looking necklace/bodice type thing and I’m trying to figure out what it is made of. It has a ring that goes around the neck, then drapes over your chest and down to the waist. It has two large sections that appear to hook around the bra area or shoulders. It has a few types of coral. Branch type pieces, chunk beads and slices. The slices look very organic. Full of natural little holes. The chunk style beads look real also. But the closures and other components look cheap. I soaked a couple pieces in milk for an hour and the milk didn’t change color as iv heard coral can do. Could it be dyed bone? Any other ways to test it for other substances?
