FAQ
Through Lighthouse Hope Mission, Lighthouse Christian Centre extends a caring arm to its immediate Community and beyond.
In keeping with our purpose statement (of being relevant to the community) and the word of God (Luke 6:36) which asks us to be merciful, we are committed to making help available to those in need. The aim of this ministry is to:
Be a caring neighbour by supporting local initiatives aimed at developing the neighbourhood
Be sensitive to God’s command by providing timely help where directed to by God before disaster occurs
Support local charities in meeting their goals
Assist globally in times of national disasters to support affected victims
Pray for hope and light for all where it has been lost
In the past we have provided financial support to the following:
ØThe Pakistan Earthquake Relief Project
ØTsunami Relief via DEC
ØHarmony Community Arts Centre in Maidstone
ØDemelza House in Kent
Ø Orphanages in Zimbabwe
Ø Orphanages in Nigeria
Ø Refugee Centre in Nigeria
Lighthouse Press Release
In these trying times, every little really does help. Several families in the Maidstone area received extra help this Christmas as they received free Christmas Hampers delivered to their doors. Included in the hamper was everything required to make their Christmas truly special including a large Turkey, a bottle of non alcoholic wine and several other items.
This warm gesture, which is inline with the Christmas spirit, was made possible due to the generous donations of members of Lighthouse Christian Centre, a vibrant multicultural church which meets at the Hilary Hall in Mangravet, Maidstone.“Christmas is about love and love really is measured by action. “It is great to be a blessing to people in the local Community” said Pastor Julius, the senior pastor of the church
The recipients were carefully selected to ensure that the hampers ended up with people who needed it most. Recipients included single mothers, senior citizens, those on low income and the unemployed. In view of the current economic climate, the hampers could not have come at a better time. “This is the first time anyone has ever given me a hamper” said one of the recipients gratefully.
