Why wear the full face veil (niqab) when a hijab will do?
The niqab is worn in some Islamic communities. This covers the whole of the wearers face except the eyes. In Afghanistan even the eyes are covered with a netting like material.
The Hijab is like a scarf and leaves the face visible. This is enough to meet the requirement of modesty or whatever else.
Is not the niqab being forced on the women in the Islamic communities by the elders? We have heard so much about ‘honor killings’ too from the same communities. This is in the same vein. Most of those killed are women.
My view is that this is another form of Islamic extremism — cover the full face when covering the hair will do. In Afghanistan not even the eyes are allowed to be seen.
Forced conversions to Islam or death, demolition of non-Islamic places of worship, changes in non-Islamic Laws in non-Islamic countries are all extremist views.
Thanks to ‘♥Dream ♥’ for reminding all Muslims on how to be a good Muslim.
So why do Muslims break their own ‘rules’ so often?
It’s a person’s choice. Don’t judge.
